Paper straw project- SAARANG, focuses at making paper straws with the use of sustainable and eco-friendly raw materials. An NGO, Family of disabled helped us reach out to a community of specially abled, which face social exclusion and their plight drives us to make this enterprise sustainable.


This project not only aims at sustainable development but also through this project we are benefiting many specially abled families and people who want to work and cannot do it due to their physical condition. 

 We are raising funds for the specially abled people through an eco-friendly solution to the menace of plastic straws, so that they can meet their basic ends and come at par with the existing communities in the society. All the profits arising will be with the community providing them financial security. The funds raised would be used to buy the raw materials.

The raw material required to make a good paper straw include a paper, paraffin wax, cornstarch and a dry cloth to remove excess wax.

 To see our project become self-sustaining enterprise and hence the community getting a respectable livelihood is the ultimate goal that motivates us to work!

 we are team of 50 members at Ram lal anand college which is part of Delhi University, we still are at very initial and naive level but with society's support we thrive to take project at international level so that more and more people can get to know about and they can also contribute for such great efforts.

Now a days when people talk about India , then say " India's  GDP is rising at a rapid pace " and mostly people take it as the welfare of economy but they don't know the difference between the welfare and GDP growth . There exist a lots of externalities between welfare and GDP growth . Hence only rise in GDP cannot be considered as a welfare of the society .
